Stargate
Brass accents, open workspaces and lavish marble features. As property developers, Stargate envisioned their offices to match the opulence of their multi-residential developments. The brief was to create a space where clients enter and immediately experience this high-level luxury. To achieve this, we curated an overall palette of refined simplicity, while incorporating striking natural stone elements. The result is a space infused with captivating interest and vibrant energy.
The Approach
Stargate approached us to create an office space that reflected the standards of its developments. Whether it would be a client, supplier, another developer or investor, the goal was for those who entered their office to know what Stargate could create.
Our brief was to space-plan to allow for executive offices, a boardroom with a bar, reception, kitchen, open plan workspace and several other enclosed offices. The space also had to be designed with the idea that the team would grow over time.
Drawing inspiration from opulent design, our challenge was to balance elegance with budget-consciousness. The result was a clever fusion of affordable and luxurious elements. Our strategy focused on allocating resources where they mattered most.
The Details
The client chose a wild black stone with gold flecks. We chose to turn this element into a feature, toning down the rest of the palette to allow it to stand out. Marble took centre stage, adorning both the reception desk and the LED-lit boardroom bar, and the client offered a Calacatta marble dining table from their personal collection, which was repurposed as the centrepiece for the conference room. To imbue the space with a glamorous edge, we incorporated black joinery with brass handles in the bar and kitchen areas.
For flooring, a subtle grey tile was selected, complemented by white wood textures in the remaining joinery.
Glass dividing walls were designed between the enclosed offices, open workspace and the boardroom to allow light through, but we installed curtains for privacy and to soften the shared space.
